Description\n
American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and at least 2 years of experience, including 1 year of acute care and hospital experience, for a pediatric position at a children's hospital.
Details\n

- Children's hospital setting within the Speech-Language Pathology Pediatrics unit
- Acute care work with pediatric patients including PICU cases
- Treats conditions such as autism, developmental delays, hearing impairments, language disorders, TBI, and dysphagia
- Performs dysphagia management including bedside swallow evaluations and modified barium swallow studies
- Utilizes adaptive equipment such as augmentative communication devices, communication boards, and memory aides
- Uses evaluation tools such as CELF, PLS-4, Rossetti Infant-Toddler Language Scale, and WAB
- Epic EMR system used for charting
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
- May float to different departments, units, or facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed

Requirements\n

- CCC-SLP certification required
- BLS certification required
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an SLP required
- At least 1 year of hospital experience required
- Acute care experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Children's hospital, pediatric outpatient, pediatric rehabilitation facility, and PICU experience preferred
- Community hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

- Responsibilities include patient assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, discharge planning, and reassessments
- Conducts individual and group therapy sessions with related documentation
- Provides patient and family education on therapy goals and safety
- Trained to recognize signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates
- Candidates with prior employment at any University of California medical facility must disclose full employment history including dates, units, and manager names for a rehire eligibility review
- Two references from the most recent employer required for consideration
- Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit, and married couples may not work on the same unit
- All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager prior to start, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract
- Time off cannot be scheduled within the first two weeks of the assignment
