Job Title: R&D Sourcing Manager (1-Year Contract)
Employer of Record: ATR International
Client: Gilead Sciences
Location: Foster City, CA (preferred) or Parsippany, NJ — Hybrid, 3 days/week onsite
Pay: $63-$70/Hr
Job Summary:
ATR International is seeking an R&D Sourcing Manager to support our client, Gilead Sciences, on a 1-year contract backfilling a contractor transitioning to an FTE role. This role supports the development side of R&D — sourcing, contracting, vendor outsourcing, and vendor qualification — with a heavy emphasis on contracting activities. The person in this role will support Gilead's clinical divisions as a whole, not a specific study. This is an individual contributor role on a 5-person team within a broader ~50-person sourcing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and negotiate MSAs, Work Orders/Statements of Work, and CDAs
- Support RFP activities and the full vendor selection lifecycle, including vendor evaluation, selection, and agreement closeout
- Review contracts, negotiate business terms, and support negotiation of legal terms
- Manage change orders and maintain accurate cataloging of contract terms in the contract database
- Manage multiple concurrent sourcing and contracting negotiations across various systems
- Support FSP (Functional Service Provider), professional services, and non-HCP consulting engagements
- Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, Business Conduct, Vendor Management, and Payments
- Manage competing priorities and negotiations independently with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing and contracting — able to hit the ground running with minimal process training
- Material, hands-on contracting experience (MSAs, SOWs, CDAs)
- Biotech, pharma, or life sciences industry experience strongly preferred
- Procurement experience with a heavy contracting focus also considered
- Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex contract discussions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- No people management responsibility in this role
Top 3 Priorities:
- Material contracting experience
- Bio/pharma industry experience
- Ability to manage negotiations
