Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching credentials specializing in visual impairment education
- Proven experience working with students who are visually impaired
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Proficiency in creating or adapting materials for accessibility, including using Braille and assistive technology
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress
- Compassion, patience, and creative problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to visually impaired students, adapting methods to maximize each student’s learning potential
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support personnel to integrate students into general education settings when appropriate
- Evaluate student skills and create tailored educational plans
- Develop and adapt assessments, instructional materials, and technology resources
- Empower students by fostering self-advocacy and independent living skills
- Maintain thorough records and regularly communicate student progress to families and educational teams
