Job Description

AHP are seeking a Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our team! You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of assigned patients 8-18 years old residing in a juvenile detention facility. Please have M/S, ER, PSYCH or COREECTIONAL experience.

Job Details:

Pay Rate - $54.75/hr=$2189.60/week=$35033.60/16 weeks
Shifts - Morning 6am-2:30pm, evenings 2pm-10:30pm and nights 10pm-6:30am
40 hours per week - must be able to work every other weekend
Full Time 13-20 Week Contract

Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 year of Psych Experience
Current California RN License
Correctional / Detention Center Preferred
Current BLS, ACLS
Must be comfortable with blood draws

Responsibilities:

Provide basic nursing care to 300 adolescent (ages 8-18) patients (inmates or court wards), including the collection of specimens and general skin care.
Provide Intravenous infusion and monitor intravenous therapy.
Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
Provide medication to numerous patients on a daily basis
Assessing (aggressive) patients and their mental health
Familiar with psychiatric medication
Working in a locked unit with patients
Assist in patient education and rehabilitation; instruct patients in carrying out physicians' orders.
Provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members
