Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Description

A school district in Corona, California is seeking a qualified Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full‑time, school‑based contract. This position serves K–12 students and focuses on providing speech and language services to support communication and academic success. Candidates with experience in assistive technology and AAC systems are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech‑language therapy services to students in individual and group settings
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
  • Develop, implement, and manage IEP goals and services
  • Recommend and implement assistive technology (AT) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
  • Conduct evaluations to determine appropriate communication supports and accommodations
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
  • Train staff and support students in the use of AAC devices and communication tools
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions

Qualifications

  • Active California Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) license
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) preferred (CFs may be considered)
  • Experience with or knowledge of assistive technology and AAC systems
  • Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
  • Credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates

Education

  • Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology or a related field

Experience

  • Previous school‑based or pediatric experience preferred
  • Experience working with assistive technology, AAC devices, and communication supports strongly preferred
  • Clinical Fellows (CFs) with appropriate supervision eligibility are encouraged to apply

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of speech‑language therapy practices in educational settings
  • Proficiency in AAC devices and assistive technology implementation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational and documentation abilities
  • Commitment to supporting diverse student populations

Work Hours

  • Monday–Friday
  • 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Approximately 37–40 hours per week
