Job DescriptionSalary: $16.90 or $17.50 /hr

Job Overview

This position performs a variety of labor and customer service functions at the Eco Hut. Anticipated start date is June 1, 2026; anticipated end date is July 8, 2026.



Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in the set-up, maintenance, and tear down of exhibits within the Eco Hut.
  • Assist volunteer agencies/groups with transport and set up of exhibit materials.
  • Perform manual labor involved in the maintenance of exhibits and interactives.
  • Clean and maintain exhibits, which may include using tools and equipment.
  • Interact with guests to provide knowledge and understanding of the 22nd DAAs environmental stewardship.
  • Keep abreast of information to answer questions and concerns with timely andknowledgeable responses in person.
  • Practice good physical work methods and utilize good work habits.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, googles), if necessary, and maintain a safe workenvironment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested when needed.
  • Engage with fair guests in a friendly and welcoming manner. Answer questions and provideinformation about the Eco Hut/22nd DAAs environmental stewardship.
  • Assists in promoting our fair values by creating quality guest experiences for both internal and external customers.
  • Promotes the District's F.A.I.R. values by creating quality guest experience for both internal and external customers.



Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and ability to work cooperatively with team members and others.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to understand/retain information on the 22nd DAAs environmental stewardship.
  • Interest/knowledge/education in the natural environment, environmental protection, environmental policy, etc.



Working Conditions

  • Work requires a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
  • Work is indoors and outdoors.
  • Outdoor work may involve exposure to weather conditions.
  • Exposure to dust, dirt, unpleasant odors, and animals.
  • Move objects up to 30 pounds. Push/pull heavy objects.
