Position open to Chukchansi Tribal Members

JOB SUMMARY

The Temporary Puiblic Works Tech performs a variety of manual labor and outdoor work assignments in support of Tribal operations. This position is part of a centralized temporary worker pool and is assigned to short-term projects or coverage needs based on operational demand.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, loading, and site cleanup

Assist with maintenance, repair, and improvement projects across Tribal properties

Operate basic tools and equipment safely and effectively

Support groundskeeping, landscaping, and facility upkeep activities

Follow safety procedures and use required protective equipment

Maintain clean and organized work areas

Report issues, hazards, or equipment concerns to supervisors

Assist with event setup, breakdown, or other labor-related assignments as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED preferred

Minimum one (1) year of manual labor or outdoor work experience

Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds

Ability to follow verbal instructions and work as part of a team

Must pass background check and drug/alcohol screening

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in construction, maintenance, landscaping, or public works

Familiarity with hand tools and light equipment

Experience working in a tribal or government environment

TRIBAL PREFERENCE STATEMENT:

In accordance with applicable Tribal law and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians (PRCI) Administration provides employment preference to enrolled PRCI Tribal Members. To qualify, applicants must submit valid proof of enrollment. Tribal Members who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and layoff decisions. During the interview process, PRCI Tribal Members will receive an additional 7.5 points (10% of the 75-point interview rubric). Non-PRCI Native American candidates will receive an additional 5 points (6.7% of the total points) in accordance with Indian Preference guidelines.


INDIAN PREFERENCE STATEMENT:

In compliance with 25 CFR Part 276 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Sections 701(b) and 703(i), employment preference shall be given to qualified applicants who are enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians, and secondarily, to another qualified American Indian/Alaska Native Candidate.
