Antitrust Attorney
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Antitrust Attorney to join our legal team and provide counsel and representation on competition law matters. The successful candidate will advise clients on antitrust compliance, conduct investigations, manage litigation and regulatory proceedings, and develop strategies to mitigate competition risk. This role requires deep experience in competition law, strong litigation skills, and the ability to provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to business clients and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on antitrust and competition law issues, including mergers and acquisitions, pricing, distribution, and trade practices.
- Lead and manage antitrust litigation and administrative proceedings before courts and regulatory agencies, including evidence gathering, drafting pleadings, and presenting oral arguments.
- Conduct internal investigations and compliance reviews, drafting policies and training programs to prevent anti-competitive conduct.
- Draft and negotiate transactional agreements with antitrust risk mitigation provisions, and prepare filings for Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) or other jurisdictional merger notifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (compliance, business, regulatory affairs) to assess risk, develop strategy, and provide practical legal solutions.
- Monitor regulatory developments, enforcement trends, and case law in antitrust and competition law to advise on business impacts and update compliance practices.
- Manage outside counsel and coordinate multi-jurisdictional matters, ensuring consistent strategy and cost-effective advocacy.
- Provide clear, client-facing legal advice and written analyses that translate complex antitrust law into actionable business recommendations.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in good standing.
- 5+ years of experience practicing antitrust/competition law, including litigation and regulatory proceedings; experience as an attorney in a law firm or in-house legal department preferred.
- Demonstrated litigation experience, including motion practice, discovery management, depositions, and courtroom or administrative hearing experience.
- Solid transactional experience handling merger reviews, HSR filings, and counseling on deal structuring to address antitrust risk.
- Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to present complex legal concepts to business audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple matters, work under pressure, and meet deadlines on high-stakes cases.
- Familiarity with competition enforcement agencies and procedures (e.g., DOJ, FTC, EC) and experience coordinating international antitrust matters.
- Skills: Antitrust, Litigation, Legal, Attorney, Anti, Trust (demonstrated through prior work and client engagements).
