Pay: $25.00–$28.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (40 hours/week)

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator / Medical Assistant to join a busy primary care clinic in Simi Valley. This role combines front office coordination with clinical medical assistant duties to provide exceptional patient care and support to providers.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet, check in, and assist patients throughout their visit.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
  • Verify insurance, update patient demographics, and obtain required signatures and consent forms.
  • Collect co-pays and assist with billing-related documentation.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and route messages appropriately.
  • Prepare exam rooms and room patients for provider visits.
  • Obtain and document vital signs.
  • Assist providers with routine clinical procedures under supervision.
  • Perform venipuncture, vision screenings, and audiometry when qualified.
  • Process referrals and obtain insurance authorizations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using EPIC.
  • Prepare, scan, file, and organize patient charts and medical records.
  • Maintain office and medical supply inventory.
  • Keep waiting and exam areas clean, organized, and patient-ready.
  • Provide administrative and clinical support as needed to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Recent EPIC experience within the last 12 months is required.
  • Previous experience as a Patient Care Coordinator, Medical Assistant, or similar outpatient healthcare role required.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • CMA or RMA certification preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Audiometry and vision screening certification (or ability to obtain within six months) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and medical office workflows.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced primary care environment.

Experience:


  • Recent Epic within the last 12 months: 1 year (Required)
  • Insurance verification, Patient Registeration and Scheduling: 1 year (Required)


License/Certification:


  • BLS (Required)
  • CMA or RMA (Required)
