This role is part of our Space and Launch business, which has contributed to the nation’s space programs for decades by delivering complete solutions from concept to flight. We enable successful space operations with mission-critical technology supporting every step from first launch to final landing, including launch vehicle subsystems, propulsion systems, aerodynamic and interstage systems, and payload protection and deployment. Our high-performance solutions are engineered to operate in the most extreme environments and meet precise mission requirements.

The Machine Maintenance Technician ensures reliable operation of production machinery and mechanical equipment to support safe, high‑quality manufacturing. This role diagnoses issues, performs preventive maintenance, and manages equipment repairs and movements that help keep production running efficiently. It contributes directly to shop readiness, operational continuity, and equipment performance across the facility.

Schedule

  • This position follows a 2nd shift schedule: Monday - Friday 4:00 p.m. - 12:30 a.m.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures reliable operation of mechanical and electro‑mechanical equipment, machinery, material‑processing machines, cutting machines, and basic pneumatic tools and lines.
  • Performs diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to resolve equipment issues and prevent downtime.
  • Oversees installation, relocation, calibration, setup, and leveling of machinery.
  • Coordinates maintenance and repair services with outside vendors when needed.
  • Tracks, schedules, and documents preventive maintenance activities in accordance with company policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
  • Knowledge of mechanical tools and test equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow diagrams, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills and strong time‑management skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of machinery.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Use of stairs is required.
  • Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifts objects up to 95 pounds.
  • The essential functions of this position must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
