NPower, a national nonprofit that launches digital careers for veterans and military-connected individuals, is hiring a Career Placement Manager (CPM) to turn graduates of our no-cost SkillBridge Cybersecurity Program into hired professionals. You’ll build relationships with employers across the West, source roles that fit our graduates’ skills, and coach transitioning service members through the job search and into civilian technology careers.
Remote (must reside in the San Diego, CA area, Pacific Time) • Full-Time • In-person travel required • Reports to the SkillBridge Operations Director
As the CPM, you will:
- Build and grow relationships with employers, staffing firms, and talent partners that hire our graduates, focusing on cybersecurity, IT, cleared, and GovCon roles.
- Source and share current, aligned job openings, and match qualified graduates to roles that fit their skills and goals.
- Coach students and alumni on resumes, interviews, and branding, and review career-readiness deliverables with the Professional Development Manager.
- Represent NPower SkillBridge at career fairs, hiring events, and industry functions across the region.
- Track placements, employer contacts, and outcomes in Salesforce, and identify business development opportunities to hand off to our business development team.
This role may be right for you if you:
- Have three or more years of experience in workforce development, career services, business development, or employer relations focused on job placement.
- Have developed employer or community partnerships that connected people to jobs in a results-driven environment.
- Have worked with active-duty service members, veterans, or military-connected populations in a coaching or placement capacity.
- Communicate clearly and persuasively, from one-on-one coaching to conversations with senior executives.
- Are organized, comfortable with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and LinkedIn, and ready to reside in the San Diego area on Pacific Time and travel as needed.
Nice to have (not required):
- Prior military service or experience supporting transitioning service members and veterans in employment.
- Experience in corporate engagement, recruiting, or talent acquisition, particularly in technology or cybersecurity.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field, or familiarity with DoW SkillBridge, Transition Assistance Programs (TAP), or similar transition initiatives.
