Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC II / Senior CRC)
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) with 3-5 years of experience managing active treatment clinical trials to join a collaborative and highly specialized research team. Oncology experience is preferred, but we are open to candidates
with experience in other acute therapeutic areas managing complex
interventional studies. This role offers the opportunity to independently manage a portfolio of research participants and protocols while being supported by dedicated Research Assistants and a separate Regulatory Affairs team. The ideal candidate is highly organized, patient-focused, and experienced in coordinating complex study visits from startup through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for research participants, sponsors, monitors, and regulatory agencies.
- Independently coordinate assigned clinical studies from startup through closeout.
- Manage a patient caseload of approximately 10-15 active patients across 5-7 protocols.
- Coordinate and conduct approximately 10-12 complex study visits per week.
- Screen, evaluate, and enroll participants according to study protocols and eligibility criteria.
- Obtain informed consent and ensure ongoing participant safety and protocol compliance.
- Collect, process, and coordinate study specimens according to protocol requirements.
- Collect, enter, and manage patient and research data in electronic data capture systems and study databases.
- Complete Case Report Forms (CRFs), source documentation, and study-related records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review and audit clinical research documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with protocol and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain study tracking tools, flow sheets, recruitment logs, and study documentation.
- Assist with participant recruitment and retention strategies.
- Coordinate study procedures, scheduling, monitoring visits, and sponsor communications.
- Prepare for and participate in sponsor monitoring visits and audits.
- Manage study budgets, monitor expenditures, and collaborate with finance teams to resolve billing questions and discrepancies.
- Partner closely with Principal Investigators to ensure proper study conduct, patient safety, and compliance with GCP, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain essential regulatory documentation and support IRB renewals and regulatory submissions as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health science, biological science, nursing, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of Clinical Research Coordinator experience managing active treatment clinical trials.
- Experience independently coordinating interventional clinical studies.
- Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines, informed consent processes, and clinical research regulations.
- Experience with clinical trial documentation, source records, CRFs, and data management systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and participant management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple protocols and competing priorities in a fast-paced research environment.
- Oncology clinical research experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience working with complex study protocols and high-acuity patient populations.
- CRC, CCRC, or related clinical research certification preferred.
- Experience with sponsor monitoring visits and clinical trial audits.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Alamitos, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
