Job Title: Production Associate
Job Description
This role focuses on fabricating ablative and thermal structures using specialized thermal materials and 3D molds. You will work hands-on with a thermal, putty-like material, inject and seal molds, and support the production of thermal protectants for carbon fiber components such as rocket end caps. You will follow standard work methods, adhere to strict safety and quality practices, and collaborate closely with engineering to ensure efficient, precise, and reliable production.
Responsibilities
- Work with a thermal, putty-like material prepared onsite to fabricate ablatives and thermal structures.
- Handle and work with 3D molds produced onsite, ensuring proper preparation and setup for each job.
- Inject molds with thermal and silicone materials accurately and consistently according to specifications.
- Enclose and seal molds using appropriate hand and power tools, including screwdrivers and paint brushes.
- Load prepared molds into ovens following established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with onsite engineers to understand product designs, mold variations, and process improvements.
- Follow detailed work instructions and standard work methods to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
- Prep and maintain tools in accordance with specified guidelines and procedures to ensure readiness and reliability.
- Inspect completed products visually to verify conformance to specifications and identify defects.
- Record production information accurately on logs, records, and report forms as required.
- Perform rework on products as needed to meet quality standards.
- Clean and reseal tools using the appropriate release systems to maintain proper operation and product quality.
Essential Skills
- At least 6 months of manufacturing experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work consistently.
- Experience using hand and power tools in a production or mechanical environment.
- Ability to perform simple measurements accurately.
The standard schedule is a first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime potential starting as early as 5:00 a.m. and extending to 3:30 p.m., as well as possible weekend work. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organized tool control to support high-quality, reliable production.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
