Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Job Description

The Inspector performs precise mechanical inspections of aerospace parts and assemblies using a variety of measurement tools to ensure products meet strict quality and compliance standards. This role focuses on quality control and quality assurance within an aerospace manufacturing environment that operates under AS9100 and related quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed mechanical inspection of aerospace parts and assemblies using calipers, micrometers, gauges, rulers, height gages, and other precision measurement tools.
  • Verify that components meet dimensional, geometric, and visual requirements in accordance with aerospace quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles when inspecting parts to confirm proper form, orientation, and location of features.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance checks, including QC testing, to identify nonconforming parts and ensure consistent product quality.
  • Calibrate and maintain measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy and reliability of inspection results.
  • Document inspection findings clearly and accurately, including measurements, deviations, and any corrective actions taken.
  • Communicate inspection results and quality issues effectively through oral and written reports to relevant team members.
  • Use basic mathematics, including algebra and geometry, to interpret drawings, calculate tolerances, and analyze measurement data.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection processes by identifying potential issues and proposing practical solutions.
  • Follow established aerospace quality standards, including AS9100 and related quality system requirements, in all inspection activities.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area while adhering to facility safety practices and handling parts and tools properly.
  • Perform job duties that require standing for the majority of the day and safely lifting items up to 35 lbs as needed.
  • Wear latex gloves and other required personal protective equipment while handling parts and performing inspections.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of aerospace inspection experience.
  • Hands-on experience performing mechanical inspection of aerospace parts and assemblies.
  • Strong knowledge in quality control, quality assurance, and QC testing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with and understanding quality standards such as AS9100 and similar aerospace quality systems.
  • Proficiency in using mechanical inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, rulers, and height gages.
  • Solid knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and its application in inspection.
  • Ability to use and calibrate measurement tools to maintain accurate and reliable inspection results.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics, including algebra and geometry, for interpreting drawings and performing calculations.
  • Excellent oral comprehension and written comprehension to understand instructions and document inspection results clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify root causes of quality issues and support corrective actions.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs safely as part of daily duties.
  • Ability to stand for the majority of the workday.
  • Ability to wear latex gloves as required for handling parts and materials.

Work Environment

You work in a state-of-the-art aerospace manufacturing facility equipped with modern inspection tools and technology designed to support high-precision work. The environment emphasizes safety, quality, and innovation, with clear processes and standards that guide daily activities. This is a first-shift position, operating Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., where you stand for much of the day, handle parts that may weigh up to 35 lbs, and wear latex gloves and other appropriate protective gear as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntington Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
