The position offers steady, hands-on work in a construction environment with a small, tight-knit team and a strong backlog of new builds and installations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the fabrication and assembly of equipment in the shop before field installation.
- Perform TIG and dual shield welding on mild steel and some stainless steel components as part of equipment fabrication and installation.
- Use hand tools and power tools to complete mechanical installations, including nuts-and-bolts assembly and alignment of equipment.
- Travel in company work trucks to various job sites to install packing sheds, feed mills, dryers, silos, and related systems.
- Carry out mechanical installation tasks on new build construction sites, ensuring equipment is securely and accurately installed.
- Perform dual shield welding for tack welding in the field and shop as needed.
- Support MIG welding and other fabrication tasks to prepare structural and mechanical components.
- Work collaboratively with a small field and shop crew to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Participate in and successfully complete a weld test to demonstrate dual shield and TIG welding proficiency.
- Follow all site safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area in both shop and field environments.
- Adapt to working 5–6 days per week with 8–10 hour shifts, including travel time to and from job sites.
- Assist with both new builds and installation projects, contributing to a growing backlog of work.
Essential Skills

- Ability to perform MIG welding in an industrial or construction environment.
- Mechanical installation experience, including nuts-and-bolts assembly and equipment installation.
- Comfort working in construction and industrial environments on new build sites.
- Ability to read instructions and follow installation guidance accurately in the shop and field.
- Willingness and ability to travel daily to multiple job sites within the region using company vehicles.
- Capacity to work 5–6 days per week on 8–10 hour shifts, including time spent traveling to job sites.
- Ability to pass a weld test for dual shield and TIG welding as part of the hiring process.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial work environments.
- Prior experience installing equipment such as packing sheds, feed mills, dryers, or silos.
- Comfort working as part of a small, close-knit crew on long-term projects.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to adapt to changing site conditions and tasks.
Why Work Here?
You will join a small, tight-knit team that values collaboration, reliability, and hands-on craftsmanship. The organization offers steady work with a strong backlog of new builds and installations, providing long-term project stability and consistent hours. Team members travel together in company vehicles to job sites and receive drive time at regular pay, creating a sense of shared purpose and reducing personal commuting costs. The environment encourages learning by doing, giving you the opportunity to expand your fabrication and installation skills while contributing to visible, large-scale projects.
Work Environment
The role is based in both a fabrication shop and field construction sites, primarily on new build agricultural and industrial projects, including a pistachio facility. You will work as part of a team of about 15 people, with plans to grow the crew to around 20 by the end of the year, reflecting a strong pipeline of work. The environment is typical of a construction setting, with active equipment, machinery, and outdoor exposure, requiring appropriate workwear and adherence to safety practices. Work sites range across multiple locations, and you will travel in company work trucks to these sites. The schedule typically involves working 5–6 days per week for 8–10 hours per day, including drive time, with a focus on new builds and installation projects using welding and mechanical tools and equipment.
