Lead Wire Harness Technician Location: Signal Hill, CA

Position Summary

Benmo is seeking an experienced Lead Wire Harness Technician to oversee daily production activities while remaining hands- on in the manufacturing of complex wire harnesses and cable assemblies. This individual will lead by example, mentor technicians, ensure quality standards are maintained, and work closely with engineering and management to meet customer delivery schedules.

This position requires strong technical knowledge of aerospace wire harness manufacturing, IPC/WHMA- A-620 Class 3 workmanship standards, and the ability to lead a small production team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build complex aerospace wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Lead and mentor production technicians.
• Assign daily work and monitor production progress.
• Ensure work is completed on schedule while maintaining the highest quality standards. • Train new employees on IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 workmanship.

• Perform in-process inspections and final inspections.
• Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and work instructions. • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and recommend process improvements.
• Verify proper tooling, calibration, and manufacturing methods.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality requirements.
• Support Engineering with prototype builds and design feedback.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist with production planning and scheduling when required.
• Communicate project status and manufacturing concerns to management.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications Required

• Minimum 5 years of aerospace or military wire harness manufacturing experience. • Extensive knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A- 620 Class 3 requirements.
• Experience with:
• Open-barrel and closed-barrel crimping

• Coaxial cable terminations
• Shield terminations
• Soldering to J-STD-001 or equivalent standards
• Heat shrink and Raychem products
• Deutsch, Amphenol, TE Connectivity, Glenair, Souriau, Molex, and similar connectors • Ability to read engineering drawings and wiring schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Preferred

• IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification
• J-STD-001 Certification
• Experience working in an AS9100 environment.
• Experience with ITAR-controlled products.
• Experience using automated wire processing equipment and electrical test equipment.
