COMPENSATION:
Pay Rate: $25.00–$28.00 per hour
This represents the good faith estimate of the hourly wage range we reasonably expect to pay for this position upon hire, depending on factors such as the selected candidate's experience, training, education, job-related skills, internal equity, and operational needs.
In select cases, and depending on market conditions or exceptional candidate qualifications, compensation may exceed this range, provided it aligns with applicable law and our compensation policies.

SUMMARY:
Supports the daily operations of the Campus Stores locations by providing excellent customer service, maintaining merchandise presentation, and assisting with store operations. Works closely with the Operations Manager and team members to ensure a positive shopping experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Assists with cashiering, stocking, part time schedule creation, promotional activities, and maintaining a clean and organized sales environment.

Provides exceptional customer service by assisting customers with merchandise selection, purchases, and general store inquiries.

Assists with daily sales floor operations, creating part time work schedules, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

Operates cash registers and handles transactions accurately, including cash, credit card, and refund transactions.

Supports opening and closing procedures, including securing store assets, cash handling, and ensuring operational readiness.

Assists with stocking shelves, replenishing merchandise, organizing displays, and maintaining visual presentation standards.

Prepare and support bookstore promotions, events, and seasonal activities.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of sales floor areas, stockrooms, and cashier stations.

Responsible for consistently using UKG for scheduling, timekeeping and running payroll reports.

Supports inventory control efforts, including receiving shipments, tagging merchandise, and conducting inventory counts.

Monitors sales floor activity and reports on customer concerns, safety issues, or potential loss prevention matters to management.

Develops and maintains positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, vendors, student organizations, faculty, staff, and university personnel.

Assists other departments as requested by management.

Must comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health.

Job Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The minimum requirement for applicants is an associate’s degree or trade/vocational school with a focus on retail management; plus, at least three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills are required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read, write, and understand English. Requires the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, guidelines, and objectives.
Requires the ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret general business information, governmental regulations, and technical/trade journals.
Requires the ability to write reports and communicate effectively using telephonic, written, and electronic means. Requires the ability to effectively and respectfully present information one-on-one, small, and large group situations to customers, management, and employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic math; adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplication.
REASONING ABILITY:
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply instructions presented in written, verbal, or diagrammatic form. Skilled in resolving problems involving multiple concrete variables within standardized situations. Possesses strong analytical, quantitative, organizational, and management capabilities.
MANUAL DEXTERITY:
Must be able to utilize a computer and Point of Sale (POS) terminal. Requires the ability to use a variety of office machines and equipment.
PHYSICAL COMMUNICATION:
Must have the ability to talk/express and/or exchanging ideas and hear/perceiving sounds.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to operate office equipment such as computers, copy machines, and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and/or walk/move; handle objects; keypad or paper and books. You must be able to move, lift, or carry heavy objects or materials for up to 25 pounds. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral visions, distance vision, and color vision for extensive reading and interpretation of reports and documents.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND HAZARDS
Work is regularly performed in both a traditional office setting and open sales floor workspace. There may be exposure to airborne particles created from incoming boxes, merchandise, and textbooks. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act pursuant to California Penal Code Section 11166.5.
Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs. This may include opening, mid-day, and closing shifts, as well as night shifts, weekends, and holidays throughout the year.
BACKGROUND CHECK INFORMATION:
A background check will be conducted after a conditional offer of employment is extended by the company and accepted by the applicant and must be satisfactorily completed prior to any applicant beginning work in a full-time, part-time non-student, or sensitive student capacity with Aztec Shops Ltd.
