Job Title: Mammography Technologist, Per Diem
Location: Burlingame, CA
Job Type: Per Diem, Part-Time
Work Setting: Outpatient imaging center within a hospital system
Schedule: Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vacation coverage and sick calls. Flexibility for variable shifts and coverage at additional locations is required.
Pay: Senior Mammography Technologist: $89.70 per hour. Principal Mammography Technologist: $97.66 per hour.
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000

Overview
A hospital system in Burlingame, California is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist for a per diem opportunity supporting an outpatient imaging setting. This role performs screening and diagnostic breast imaging while maintaining high standards for image quality, patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations and related breast imaging procedures.
- Produce high-quality images that meet ACR standards.
- Coordinate with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to support efficient patient care.
- Use radiology information systems and PACS platforms to manage imaging workflows.
- Maintain required quality control documentation.
- Participate in routine equipment testing, maintenance, and departmental performance improvement activities.
- Support training and orientation of students and newly hired team members when needed.
- Provide coverage at additional hospital-system locations as required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a formal radiologic technology training program from an AMA-approved school.
- Minimum of 3 years of mammography experience for Senior-level consideration.
- More than 5 years of mammography experience for Principal-level consideration.
- Current ARRT Mammography Certification.
- Current California CRT Radiology License.
- Current California CRT Mammography License.
- Current BLS Basic Life Support certification.
- Proof of at least 40 documented hours of mammography-specific training if certified after April 27, 1999.
- Proof of at least 200 mammography examinations performed during the previous 24 months.
- At least 15 mammography CEUs completed during the previous 36 months.
- Proof of MQSA-approved training consisting of at least 8 hours each in Digital Mammography and 3D Tomosynthesis.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and provide coverage at other locations when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with RIS and PACS systems.
- Experience assisting with quality control and performance improvement initiatives.
- Experience training students or newly hired technologists.
Skills
Screening mammography, diagnostic mammography, 3D tomosynthesis, digital mammography, ACR-quality imaging, breast imaging, quality control, RIS/PACS, patient care, and interdisciplinary coordination.
Work Environment
This position supports an outpatient imaging environment within a hospital system. The technologist should be comfortable with per diem coverage, changing operational needs, and occasional work at additional locations.
