In this role, you support fabrication and production by interpreting technical drawings, preparing metal components, and performing high‑quality TIG and MIG welding. You build precision structures and assemblies using a range of materials and equipment while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Measures, cuts, and assembles metal components using tools such as saws, grinders, plasma cutters, and oxy/acetylene torches.
- Performs MIG and TIG welding on steel, aluminum, stainless steel, inconel, and titanium.
- Fabricates parts and structures to meet design specifications and tolerances.
- Operates machinery including shears, press brakes, overhead cranes, forklifts, and handheld tools.
- Inspects welded surfaces and structures, identifying and correcting defects.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follows safety procedures and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborates with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a welder or fabricator (at least 5 years).
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
- Experience applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Knowledge of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and inconel.
- Familiarity with fabrication safety procedures and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade school or technical certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
- Performs physical work requiring standing for long periods. The essential functions of this position must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
