Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant: PBM

Department: Clinic

Reports To: Physician Assistant (PA) & Clinic Leadership

FLSA Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

The PBM Coordinator is a hybrid clinical and administrative role supporting patient care, clinic flow, and Photo Biomodulation (PBM) treatments. This position combines responsibilities across technician, medical assistant, scribe, and PBM coordination functions while working under a Physician Assistant (PA) to deliver a seamless patient experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greet, room, and guide patients through PBM-focused visits.
  • Prepare, facilitate, and monitor PBM treatments per protocol.
  • Obtain patient histories and document accurately in EHR.
  • Perform ophthalmic pre-testing and basic diagnostic testing as trained.
  • Scribe for providers, ensuring accurate real-time documentation.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and manage PBM patient appointments and communication.
  • Verify patient information, collect payments, and support PBM-related front office tasks.
  • Maintain exam/treatment rooms, equipment, and PBM supplies.
  • Support providers and clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow.

  • Attention to detail with accurate EHR documentation.

  • Maintains professionalism and confidentiality.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant training preferred.
  • 1+ year experience in medical or clinical setting preferred.
  • Experience with EHR systems.
  • Willingness to be trained on PBM technology.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

Manual dexterity for clinical and office equipment.

Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
