Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Medical Receptionist with back-office responsibilities to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks in a busy medical office environment. This role requires proficiency in medical scheduling and familiarity with office management practices, particularly within a private practice setting.
Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.

Manage incoming calls using phone systems, addressing inquiries and scheduling appointments for both office and surgeries efficiently.

Manage all messages, phone, fax, email accurately and in a timely manner.

Utilize EMR & EHR software to maintain accurate patient records.

Verify patient insurance information, including Medicare coverage, and ensure proper documentation is completed.

Check in and check out procedures, collecting data, insurances and payments

Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized office and medical supplies.

Provide support in handling patient payments and billing inquiries as needed.

Managing, cleaning and stocking of exam rooms. Exam rooms turn around in between patients.

Maintenance of instrument trays and surgical packs.

Brings patients into exam rooms, some patients assist and review the initial visit questionnaire.

Any other tasks pertaining to the efficient running of the medical practice.
Skills

Previous experience in a medical or dental office is preferred.

Proficiency in electronic health record systems is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of medical scheduling practices and office management techniques.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.

Ability to operate phone systems effectively and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Familiarity with insurance processes and insurance verification is advantageous.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Able to multitask, independently and cooperatively.
