Job Summary:
Chrisp Company is seeking a Fabrication Assistant / CNC Operator to support our Corporate Fabrication team. This role involves operating CNC plasma and router machines, working with SolidWorks to create and modify designs, and assisting with fabrication and assembly projects. This position also supports the Fabrication Manager in ensuring all fabrication projects are on schedule and running efficiently.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and able to work both independently and as part of a team to keep projects on schedule.
Hours:
Monday - Friday
6:00 am - 2:30 pm
Occasional overtime as necessary
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Operation
- Set up, program, and operate CNC plasma and router machines.
- Fabricate parts according to design specifications.
- Maintain machines in safe, clean, and working condition.
- Follow all safety procedures and shop protocols during all operations.
CAD Design & Drafting
- Create and modify designs using SolidWorks.
- Manage CAD files (PDF, DXF) for organization and version control.
- Collaborate with the fabrication/ shop team to improve manufacturability
Fabrication & Assembly
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, assembling instructions.
- Acurately Verify measurements and product specifications.
- Assemble parts and materials as needed.
- Monitor production schedules and meet deadlines.
- Identify and report issues or discrepancies.
Shop & Project Support
- Assist Fabrication Manager with daily operations.
- Order materials and maintain inventory/parts room.
- Support project tracking (WIP, budgets, Profit and Loss statements, timelines).
- Assist with building and assembling fabricated components.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
