About the Role:
The Dental Office Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a dental practice. This position is responsible for overseeing daily administrative functions, managing staff, and maintaining a high standard of patient care and satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in dental office management or a similar healthcare administrative role.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, insurance billing, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Proficiency with practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Certified Dental Office Manager (CDOM) or equivalent credential.
- Experience with dental insurance claim processing and familiarity with ADA coding standards.
- Background in human resources management including hiring, training, and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of OSHA/HIPPA regulations and infection control protocols specific to dental practices.
- Advanced skills in financial management and reporting within a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily office operations including patient scheduling, billing, and record keeping to ensure efficient workflow.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate front office and administrative staff to maintain high performance and professional standards.
- Oversee patient communications, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns to enhance patient satisfaction and retention.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, insurance policies, and dental practice regulations, including HIPAA requirements.
- Coordinate with dental professionals and external vendors to maintain office supplies, equipment, and facility maintenance.
- Prepare financial reports, manage budgets, and monitor accounts receivable and payable to support fiscal responsibility.
- Implement and improve office policies and procedures to optimize operational efficiency and patient experience.
