Job Description

This role involves performing troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of industrial equipment in an indoor and outdoor production environment. You will work with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting and diagnosis on industrial equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
• Repair and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including cylinders, valves, hoses, and related components.
• Inspect, service, and repair gearboxes and conveyor systems to ensure reliable material handling.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting on equipment and systems to resolve faults and restore operation.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment, as needed.
• Use welding skills to repair or fabricate components and support equipment maintenance.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in a clear and accurate manner.
• Follow safety procedures and best practices while working in an industrial production environment.
• Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to prioritize and complete work efficiently.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and recommending long-term solutions.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting industrial equipment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and their maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of pneumatic systems and their maintenance.
• Experience working with conveyor systems, including inspection, repair, and adjustment.
• Experience maintaining and repairing gearboxes.
• Proficiency in preventive maintenance practices for industrial equipment.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills for production equipment and systems.
• Experience with forklift repair and maintenance.
• Basic to intermediate welding skills for equipment repair and fabrication.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in an industrial production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a unionized industrial or production setting.
• Experience working on both indoor and outdoor equipment in varying environmental conditions.
• Comfort working extended shifts and occasional weekend schedules.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional maintenance and production teams.

Work Environment

This position is based in an indoor industrial production facility that can be dirty and dusty, with areas that are open and exposed to weather elements while still within an enclosed space. You will work around heavy equipment, conveyors, and material handling systems. The standard shift runs from approximately 3:15 a.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. You should expect to work 10-hour days and be open to Saturday work. Appropriate industrial workwear and personal protective equipment are required to safely perform the job in this environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Stockton, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.60 - $33.45/hr.
