We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive consultative and procedural gastroenterology services in a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare environment. The physician will diagnose and treat disorders of the digestive system while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal, pancreatic, liver, and biliary diseases.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy procedures.
  • Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, GERD, liver disease, colorectal disorders, and gastrointestinal malignancies.
  • Interpret laboratory findings, pathology reports, imaging studies, and endoscopic results.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based clinical guidelines.
  • Provide inpatient consultations and outpatient specialty care.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists to coordinate patient care.
  • Perform pre-procedure evaluations, obtain informed consent, and provide post-procedure follow-up.
  • Accurately document patient encounters and procedures within the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in quality assurance, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and collaborate with nursing staff, advanced practice providers, and ancillary personnel.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency.
  • Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Current, unrestricted medical license or eligibility for licensure in California.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of clinical Gastroenterology experience.
  • Experience performing high-volume diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
  • Experience with management of complex liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease.
  • ERCP and/or Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a busy procedural and clinic schedule.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
