Forklift Operator – Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate forklifts (Sit-Down, Stand-Up, Reach Truck, Cherry Picker, or Clamp Forklift, as applicable).
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers efficiently and safely.
  • Move, stack, organize, and transport materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Pick, stage, replenish, and store inventory accurately.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments and report any discrepancies.
  • Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to process inventory transactions.
  • Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment or safety concerns.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties, including order picking, packing, labeling, palletizing, shrink wrapping, sorting, stocking, and cleaning the warehouse.
  • Load production lines with materials and remove finished goods as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet daily production, shipping, and productivity goals.
  • Perform other warehouse and general labor duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous forklift operating experience required.
  • Valid forklift certification preferred.
  • Experience operating Sit-Down, Stand-Up, Reach Truck, Cherry Picker, or Clamp Forklift is a plus.
  • Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, reliability, and teamwork.
  • Must be flexible and willing to perform general labor and warehouse duties when forklift work is limited.
