Forklift Operator – Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (Sit-Down, Stand-Up, Reach Truck, Cherry Picker, or Clamp Forklift, as applicable).
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers efficiently and safely.
- Move, stack, organize, and transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Pick, stage, replenish, and store inventory accurately.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments and report any discrepancies.
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to process inventory transactions.
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment or safety concerns.
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Assist with general warehouse duties, including order picking, packing, labeling, palletizing, shrink wrapping, sorting, stocking, and cleaning the warehouse.
- Load production lines with materials and remove finished goods as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet daily production, shipping, and productivity goals.
- Perform other warehouse and general labor duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous forklift operating experience required.
- Valid forklift certification preferred.
- Experience operating Sit-Down, Stand-Up, Reach Truck, Cherry Picker, or Clamp Forklift is a plus.
- Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, reliability, and teamwork.
- Must be flexible and willing to perform general labor and warehouse duties when forklift work is limited.
