Role: Senior Full Stack Engineer – AI-Native Defense Tech Platform
Location: San Francisco, CA | On-site (5 days) | Full-Time
Compensation: $165K – $235K base + competitive equity (0.15–0.2%)
About the Company
I'm partnering with a fast-growing, YC W25-backed defense tech startup (15 people, $5M funded, backed by CRV and Pair) to find a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join their core platform team in San Francisco. This company builds AI-native supply chain automation software used by defense, aerospace, and industrial distributors — and every client gets a custom-built version of the platform tailored to how their sales team actually works. This isn't generic SaaS. It's precision engineering for a high-stakes sector. Think: close-knit team, zero bureaucracy, high ownership, and a culture that does hibachi dinners with investors on weekends.
About the Role
Building full-stack features across frontend (Svelte/React), backend APIs, and Postgres — end-to-end and independently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing and rearchitecting complex problems (slow-loading pages, form logic, system design)
- Collaborating with Forward Deployed Engineers to turn client issues into next-day fixes
- Integrating AI/LLM workflows (Cursor, Claude, Codex) directly into production as part of your daily flow
- Owning multiple projects in parallel with real architectural decision-making power
Qualifications
- 1–4 years in full-stack or product engineering
- TypeScript/JavaScript + PostgreSQL — strong SQL is non-negotiable
- Experience with Svelte, React, or Next.js
- Shipped at least one full-stack project end-to-end (GitHub, live app, or Loom demo required)
- AI-native: you actively use tools like Cursor, Claude, or Codex daily — not just in theory
- Startup experience with real ownership
