We’re representing a well-established, privately held general contractor based in Newport Beach that’s built its reputation on delivering complex commercial and public-oriented construction projects across Southern California.
This is a mid-sized team environment where Project Managers have real ownership — not buried under layers. You’ll be trusted to run projects, stay close to the field, and work directly with leadership.
Projects include commercial, institutional, and public-sector work with a strong emphasis on structural scopes and technically challenging builds.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Leadership
- Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and overall delivery
- Drive buyout, contract administration, and cost control
- Coordinate closely with field teams to ensure execution aligns with plan
Technical & Administrative Oversight
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Maintain cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with plans, specs, and applicable codes
Client & Team Coordination
- Interface with clients, consultants, and internal teams
- Identify risks early and drive solutions to keep projects on track
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years with a General Contractor
- Experience in commercial, institutional, or public works construction
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and structural scopes
- Proven ability to manage projects with minimal oversight
- Comfortable in a hands-on, mid-sized team environment
