Job Description

Full-Time General Cardiologist Opportunity in a Major Public Health System in Silicon Valley

Commitment to Health for Everyone

Our organization, a prominent public teaching healthcare system associated with a leading medical school, is on the lookout for a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible General Cardiologist. This position is within our vibrant Department of Internal Medicine, specifically in the Division of Cardiology at our main medical center, with responsibilities extending to one of our other affiliated hospitals.

We provide a unique chance to achieve long-lasting personal and professional fulfillment by caring for our patients and diverse community, while also contributing to the education of future healthcare professionals in one of the most desirable locations in the United States.

About Our Organization

Our healthcare system is the second-largest county-owned health and hospital network in California, dedicated to enhancing the health of approximately 1.9 million residents in the region. The system includes four hospitals: a 731-bed central facility, a 358-bed hospital, a 93-bed regional hospital, and a 258-bed medical center. Additionally, we operate a network of primary care clinics, urgent care facilities, dental services, behavioral health services, and a wide array of specialty services at our Valley Specialty Center.

Our main medical center hosts four residency programs and a fellowship training program, collaborating with a prestigious medical school for the clinical education of medical students, residents, and fellows. It is recognized as an ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center, a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, an ABA-verified Burn Center, a Primary Stroke Center, and a Level 4 NICU, as well as a nationally accredited Rehabilitation Center. Due to its strategic location and diverse specialty offerings, our facility serves not only the county but also the broader region.

Healthcare providers within our system benefit from an integrated electronic health record (EHR) system, which consolidates patient information across the network. Our organization has achieved the highest recognition (Stage 7) from the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) for our ongoing innovation and optimization of both inpatient and outpatient EHR systems.

About the Community

Located in San Jose, California, at the heart of Silicon Valley, our organization offers a rich variety of cultural, recreational, and lifestyle options. Our physicians reside in diverse communities, ranging from urban areas like San Francisco to university towns such as Palo Alto, and from high-tech hubs in Silicon Valley to scenic locations like Los Gatos and Santa Cruz. This region is one of the most sought-after in the country, just 45 minutes from the beautiful Monterey Bay and three hours from the Sierra Nevada mountains, allowing our physicians to enjoy an exceptional quality of life.

About the Division

The Division of Cardiology provides both consultative inpatient services and outpatient care for conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, and coronary artery disease. We play a vital role in training residents from our medical center and are in the process of establishing 'The Cardiovascular Center for Excellence' in collaboration with Cardiothoracic Surgery, while expanding our structural cardiology services.
