We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Litigation Defense Attorney to join our team. This role is ideal for an attorney looking to further develop trial skills while managing a diverse caseload and building a successful litigation practice. The selected candidate will represent a variety of clients, including businesses and public entities, and gain hands-on experience across all phases of litigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support and collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on litigation matters
  • Manage assigned cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, pre-trial, and trial phases
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and reports
  • Conduct depositions and participate in court appearances, hearings, and trials
  • Advise clients on legal strategy, risks, and business-related matters
  • Negotiate settlements and work toward favorable dispute resolutions
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and updates
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction (e.g., California)
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in civil litigation or a related practice area
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and legal documentation
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain client relationships
