Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to support our team. In this role, you will collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering personnel to enhance the safety, appearance, reliability, cost of ownership, and ergonomics across all areas of the facility. You will recommend, design, and execute repairs, routine maintenance, and continuous improvement projects to ensure optimal facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop opportunities to enhance facility safety and overall aesthetics.
- Work directly with stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and implement facility improvement projects.
- Coordinate necessary approvals for all physical modifications and personnel safety procedures.
- Identify and procure project materials and required resources.
- Implement improvement initiatives, evaluate project effectiveness alongside stakeholders, and revisit projects as needed.
- Release new or modified equipment to the facility accompanied by proper usage instructions.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Work mandatory overtime on Saturdays or other scheduled days as dictated by business needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- AA/AS Degree, Trade School diploma, or equivalent applicable hands-on experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of facility maintenance experience, including strong experience in industrial maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to perform Machine Shop functions using equipment such as a Mill, Lathe, and Surface Grinder.
- Practical knowledge of safety policies and proficiency with hand tools.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word and Excel).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and regularly sit, stand, reach, and move around the facility.
- Duties are performed in both manufacturing and office environments, including an air-conditioned warehouse that may experience high noise levels.
- Working conditions involve potential exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, electrolytes, and other hazardous materials.
- Safety glasses and safety shoes are required. Task-dependent PPE may also include goggles, ear protection, full face shields, aprons, arm guards, rubber boots, and gloves as listed in SDS guidelines.
