Description\n
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a CA RN license and advanced fetal monitoring certification.

- >2gestational age patients, including antepartum, high risrisk deliveries, substance abuse cases, pre-eclampsia, and insulin-dependent diabetics
- L&D unit has 14 beds, 6 triage beds, and 2 OR suites, with an adjoining Postpartum unit of 28 beds
- Unit averages approximately 250 births per month
- Maintains a 2:1 ratio for laboring patients and 1:4 couplet care for postpartum, following AWHONN guidelines
- Uses Cerner EMR and Fetal Link fetal heart monitoring system
- Will circulate for C-sections, with scrubbing experience preferred
- 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a
- Works every other weekend
- No call requirement, though standby status may be needed
- Floats to Postpartum unit only; Postpartum staff do not float to L&D
- Holiday coverage worked in rotation with permanent staff
- 3-shift unit-specific orientation provided

Requirements\n

- Active CA RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand, no pending licenses accepted
- Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN)
- COVID vaccination required
- Acute care, Level III trauma facility experience
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

- Provide direct patient care for laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients in a high-acuity L&D/PP unit
- Charge nurse typically does not carry a patient assignment
- OB tech support available on both day and night shifts
- Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy services available 24/7
- OB/Neonatologist not in-house but available if needed
- Navy scrubs required for Postpartum nurses; seal blue scrubs (provided) for OB techs and L&D nurses
