Job Title: Material Handler

Shift: 7am-3pm M-F

Pay: $21/hr (weekly pay)

Job Description

The Material Handler plays a key role in warehouse operations by receiving, storing, kitting, and shipping materials while maintaining accurate inventory through cycle counts. You will safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to support efficient order fulfillment and ensure a clean, organized warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming goods and materials and verify them against documentation according to established procedures.
  • Store and organize incoming materials in designated locations to ensure easy access and accurate inventory control.
  • Re-stock shelves and replenish inventory as needed to support ongoing warehouse and production activities.
  • Perform kitting activities by assembling and organizing components into kits according to order or production requirements.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records and identify discrepancies.
  • Pick, pack, and ship customer orders to ensure accurate and on-time delivery.
  • Prepare materials for shipment, including labeling, packaging, and staging orders for carrier pickup.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and work areas, including aisles, shelves, and staging zones.
  • Follow all safety procedures and best practices when handling materials and operating equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to support smooth warehouse operations.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of previous warehouse experience.
  • Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment and materials up to 60 pounds.
  • Experience with material handling activities such as shipping, receiving, restocking, kitting, and cycle counts.
  • Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and other basic material handling tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and orders.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous forklift operating experience.
  • Experience using Oracle or similar warehouse or inventory management systems.
  • Prior experience in a material handler role within a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Comfort with using basic warehouse equipment and tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to keep work areas orderly.

Work Environment

The position involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, and moving items up to 60 pounds, as well as regular use of material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. The warehouse follows structured procedures for receiving, storage, kitting, and shipping, and emphasizes cleanliness and organization across all work areas. Work attire is typical for a warehouse setting, prioritizing safety and practicality, including appropriate footwear and any required protective equipment as defined by site policies.

This is a Contract position based out of San Jose, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
