Seasonal Position – Pistachio Harvest Season
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Apprentice to join our team during the busy pistachio harvest season in Wasco, CA. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience maintaining equipment and supporting production operations in a fast-paced food processing environment. The Maintenance Apprentice will work alongside experienced maintenance technicians to help ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist maintenance technicians with preventative maintenance on processing equipment.
- Help inspect, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on machinery and facility equipment.
- Clean, lubricate, and replace basic machine components as directed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Assist with equipment setup and changeovers during production.
- Follow all food safety, GMP, OSHA, and company safety guidelines.
- Report equipment issues or potential hazards to the maintenance team.
- Support general facility maintenance projects as needed.
- Work collaboratively with production and sanitation teams to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Previous mechanical, maintenance, or construction experience is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Willingness to learn maintenance and repair skills in a food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying temperatures, including dusty or outdoor conditions.
- Comfortable standing, bending, climbing ladders, and working around industrial equipment.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed during the harvest season.
