Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Private Swim Instructor to provide one-on-one and small group swim lessons for children, teens, and adults. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about aquatics who can deliver high-quality instruction in stroke development, water safety, and overall swimming proficiency.
You will play a key role in helping swimmers build confidence, improve technique, and achieve measurable progress in a safe and supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities

Provide private and semi-private swim lessons tailored to individual skill levels

Teach swim fundamentals, stroke mechanics (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly), and water safety skills

Develop structured lesson plans focused on skill progression and technique improvement

Evaluate swimmer performance and provide clear feedback to students and parents

Ensure compliance with all pool safety rules and risk management protocols

Maintain a positive, professional, and motivating learning environment

Adapt teaching methods to accommodate beginners through advanced swimmers
RequirementsRequired Qualifications
-
Previous experience as a Swim Instructor, Swim Coach, Lifeguard, or Competitive Swimmer

Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, stroke development, and aquatic safety

Ability to work with children, teens, and adult learners of all skill levels

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and instructional skills

Reliable, punctual, and professional
Certifications (Required or Willing to Obtain)

CPR/AED Certification

First Aid Certification
-
Lifeguard Certification (preferred but not required at hire)
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with competitive swim programs or water polo

Background in youth coaching, sports instruction, or physical education

Ability to manage multiple students in small group lesson settings
