Human Resource Manager - Large Insurance Carrier - Base Salary to 140k/year - Anaheim, CA

  • Our client, a growing and well-established Property & Casualty insurance organization, is seeking a Human Resource Manager to lead Human Resources operations across multiple U.S. offices. This role is responsible for overseeing HR strategy and daily operations, ensuring compliance with employment laws, managing payroll and HR systems, supporting employee relations, and partnering with leadership to drive organizational growth and employee engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all human resources functions, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, training, talent management, and policy administration.
  • Supervise and mentor HR staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performing workplace culture.
  • Oversee payroll processing, HRIS administration, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), compensation planning, budgeting, and core HR operations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and HR programs that support organizational goals and compliance.
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive strategic Human Resources initiatives, organizational development, workforce planning, employee engagement, and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws and maintain HR best practices across multiple U.S. locations.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including 4+ years in a Human Resources leadership or management role.
  • Hands-on experience managing end-to-end payroll and serving as the primary administrator for HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Proven experience leading Human Resources operations across multiple U.S. states with a strong understanding of multi-state employment laws, compliance, employee relations, and HR best practices.
  • Prior Human Resources experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry is required.
  • Current SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is required.

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 120k - 140k/year range
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance covered 100% by the company for employees and 50% for dependents.
  • 13 paid holidays and 4 weeks of paid time off.
  • 401k with 4% company match with immediate vesting.
  • Hybrid work schedule after 90 days.
