Litigation Paralegal — Plaintiff's Personal Injury & Elder Abuse Law Firm Woodland Hills, CA | Full-Time | In-Office, 5 Days/Week
Our plaintiff-side law firm, specializing in personal injury and elder abuse litigation, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment and is passionate about advocating for injured individuals and vulnerable adults.
Position Overview
The Litigation Paralegal will provide direct support to three attorneys, managing the day-to-day mechanics of active litigation files from initial filing through trial preparation. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of independently managing competing deadlines across a substantial caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain a comprehensive litigation calendar, tracking court deadlines, discovery cutoffs, hearings, depositions, and trial dates across multiple matters
- E-file documents with California state and federal courts, ensuring full compliance with local rules and judicial procedures
- Assist attorneys with drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other litigation documents
- Coordinate and propound written discovery; assist in reviewing and organizing discovery responses and document productions
- Prepare deposition notices, subpoenas, and exhibits; assist with deposition preparation and follow-up
- Work cases up through litigation, including coordinating expert witnesses, gathering records, and preparing case materials for mediation, arbitration, and trial
- Maintain organized case files and ensure all litigation deadlines are properly calendared and met
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and experts
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of litigation paralegal experience preferred (plaintiff's personal injury and/or elder abuse experience is a strong plus)
- Working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure, California Rules of Court, and local court rules
- Proficiency with e-filing systems (One Legal, Slack, Briefpoint, PACER) and case management software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent calendaring and organizational skills with strict attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
Compensation & Benefits
Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time, in-office position located in Woodland Hills, CA. In-office attendance is required five days per week.
