Job DescriptionOur busy shop is seeking an experienced lube technician to join our automotive service team. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles, including oil changes, fluid checks and fills, tire rotations, light bulb replacements, and inspections. This position requires some knowledge of the mechanical workings of different types of automobiles. Previous experience as a lube technician or automotive technician is desired. $23.50 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Clean the shop floor and all work areas, and ensure all safety regulations are followed
- Advise customers on additional recommended services based on mileage and vehicle history
- Maintain shop inventory by recording oil and parts usage and reordering supplies when needed
- Conduct oil changes and fluid inspections on customer vehicles, including emptying and refilling engine oil and checking and refilling transmission, brake, power steering, and coolant fluids
- Check tire pressure and tread depth, and lubricate chassis components
Qualifications:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working on automobiles or as a lubricant technician of a year or more is preferred
- This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Strong customer service skills
- Must be capable of safely using tools, car lifts, and other garage equipment
