1st Shift- Hours 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM (plus 2 hrs. OT daily) 10 Hrs. OT required on Saturday's.

Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.

Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
-
Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.

Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
-
May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.

Work primarily in a clean room (~99% of time)

Responsibilities include system build, alignment, and troubleshooting

Daily work varies; candidates progress systems through completion

Role requires mechanical, electrical, and some optical troubleshooting
Qualifications:
-
Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience.
-
Strong mechanical aptitude is the top priority
-
Ability to use hand tools, troubleshoot, and think critically
-
Bachelor's (Mechanical or Electrical preferred, but not required)
-
Associate degree with ~5 years experience
-
No degree with ~5+ years hands-on mechanical experience
-
Recent grads acceptable if they demonstrate hands-on/mechanical skills
-
Ideal experience range: ~5 years; preference not to exceed ~10 years
-
Mechanical or electromechanical experience
-
Hands-on work (cars, computers, assembly, etc.)
-
Military or aviation mechanics, technicians, or similar practical roles
-
Experience with troubleshooting, alignment, or system builds
-
Strong communication skills required

Must be collaborative and able to work closely with team

Personality and team fit are critical alongside technical skills

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
