Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairment or eligibility to obtain one
- Experience working as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired or closely related position in school environments
- Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility techniques
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities for collaboration with parents, staff, and related service providers
- Demonstrated commitment to individualized education and inclusive practices
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess and support the unique educational needs of students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and accommodations
- Instruct students in Braille literacy, technology use, and independent living skills as required
- Consult with classroom teachers and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate accessible learning environments
- Participate in IEP meetings, maintaining required documentation and progress reports
- Foster a positive, adaptive atmosphere for learners to build confidence and independence
