About the Clinician's Workday
Clinicians will provide full-time outpatient psychiatric care for a high-acuity adult population, working 40 hours per week during day shifts structured as five 8-hour days (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM) or four 10-hour days (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM), with no call requirements. Expcted to see 3-5 patients per day. It will be the Psychiatrist and another member of the team going out (LCSW, LMFT, etc.) and 2/3rds of the day is likely in the field. They will not have to drive at all as the team will bring the MD with them. Most commonly areas covered will be Downtown LA and Long Beach, CA. Clinical responsibilities include conducting psychiatric evaluations, managing medications including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and developing treatment plans for patients presenting with serious mental illness, dual-diagnosis, and housing instability. The clinician will participate as part of a multidisciplinary rounding team delivering rapid-response psychiatric services to clients in permanent supportive housing or those at risk of homelessness, primarily concentrated in the downtown area but countywide in scope. Credentialing is estimated to take 3 to 5 weeks, and a live-scan is required prior to the start of the assignment.
