Summary
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting key Human Resources functions, including payroll administration, employee onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and HR compliance.
Key Activities
- Process payroll accurately and on time for hourly and salaried employees.
- Review timesheets, attendance records, and payroll-related data for accuracy.
- Coordinate payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, wage adjustments, and deductions.
- Assist employees with payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
- Prepare employment documents, offer letters, and onboarding materials.
- Conduct I-9 verification and maintain employment eligibility documentation.
- Ensure completion of required new hire paperwork and HR system entries.
- Support employee transfers, promotions, and offboarding processes.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and claims inquiries.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment activities and employee communications.
- Maintain benefits records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, payroll, benefits, and workplace issues.
- Assist managers with employee relations matters and policy interpretation.
- Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and HR procedures.
- Assist with audits, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Support workers' compensation, leave administration, and accommodation processes.
- Generate HR reports and metrics as requested.
Preferred Skills
- HR certification, such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, healthcare, or multi-site operations.
Educations & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills are essential for this position.
- The role involves managing payroll processes, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with company and state policies.
