- Configures, sets up, tests, updates, and repairs computing systems, mobile devices, and office/production equipment in both manufacturing and office environments.
- Performs regular preventive maintenance and runs diagnostic/troubleshooting tests on computer systems to proactively mitigate failure.
- Performs regular system backups and verifies data integrity for critical workstations and local software.
- Acts as the primary, first-level help desk support for plant and office personnel, assisting operators with technical problems as they arise.
- Identifies common root causes of hardware failure (e.g., loose connections, defective components, environmental wear in production areas) and reviews manufacturers' specifications to resolve complex technical issues.
- Maintains and updates the enterprise-wide hardware and IT asset inventory database.
- Installs, configures, and maintains modern Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and standard applications within an Active Directory/Azure AD environment.
- Configures local, wireless, and network printers/plotters on workstations, office PCs, and specialized plant production terminals.
- Documents specialized, proprietary, and third-party software configurations, as well as unique PC and hardware setups used across the production floor.
- First level plant help desk support
- Performs other related duties and special IT projects as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) or equivalent hands-on experience is preferred.
- Proven experience working in a technical support capacity, with a strong familiarity working inside a manufacturing or industrial production environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work night shifts as required by production schedules.
- Strong foundational proficiency configuring Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365/Office suites, hard drives, network cards, and standard peripherals.
- Basic understanding of security principles.
