Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding full-time contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting high school students in the Sonoma, CA area for the 26/27 school year. This role focuses on making a significant impact in the lives of students with moderate to severe needs, working with grades 9th–12th. Key Qualifications:
- Certification with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC): ESN, M/S, or an equivalent required
- Experience supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities at the high school level preferred
- Commitment to advocating for students and differentiating instruction to foster individual growth
- Strong communication skills to effectively partner with staff, families, and support personnel
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive, solution-focused approach
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student goals and abilities
- Foster an inclusive, respectful classroom climate that encourages participation and social-emotional growth
- Adapt curricular materials and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Regularly assess student progress and adjust instructional plans accordingly
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state regulations
- Engage in ongoing professional development and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Serve as a supportive resource for students, parents, and colleagues
This contract position offers a pay rate between $40 and $50 per hour, depending on experience and credentials.
