Job Description

  • Join our team as a Machine Operator. This role involves loading parts, performing outside manual operations such as drill press and deburring, as well as using an electric drill for drilling and tapping products. You will utilize a wrench to bolt down fixtures into t-plates and work in a manufacturing environment, preferably with machine operation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Load parts into machines for processing.
  • Perform manual operations such as drilling, deburring, and tapping using electric drills.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments like calipers, depth gages, thread gages, and pin gages.
  • Operate saws and other machinery within a manufacturing setting.
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are met during production.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in machine operation and saw operation.
  • Proficiency in using calipers and micrometers.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and lean six sigma principles.
  • Ability to conduct dimensional inspections.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with the ability to read and write to comply with written instructions.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

  • This position operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 2:15 PM to 10:45 PM, with a sign-on bonus of $250 after 90 days and another $250 after 6 months. Optional work is available on Saturdays, with candidates typically working close to 50 hours regularly. The role is set in a production environment, focusing on repetitive tasks rather than job shop work. The most challenging aspect is learning the process, while the most rewarding part is successfully handling tough set-ups and producing quality parts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $21.75/hr.
