Job DescriptionInvestigations Partner - Complex Internal and Independent Invest Established (Est. 75+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking Investigations Partner or Of Counsel for Complex Internal and Independent Investigations in Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, or San Diego, California An established firm with over Est. 75+ years in practice is seeking an Investigations Partner or Of Counsel with 10+ years of experience to join their team in Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, or San Diego, California. This role is suited for an attorney with a sophisticated and portable investigations practice handling workplace investigations, Title IX investigations, public agency investigations, executive misconduct and ethics matters, and independent governance-related investigations for public and private sector clients throughout California. The position is open to strategic lateral partners, boutique group transitions, or long-term succession and wind-up planning arrangements. Offer
Salary range: Est. $250,000-$450,000+ base compensation commensurate with experience and portable business

Admission to and good standing with the California Bar
Ten or more years of substantive experience conducting complex investigations
Established and verifiable portable investigations practice with approximately $300,000+ in annual revenue and long-term growth potential
Demonstrated experience independently managing investigations from intake through findings, reporting, and client advisement
Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive and high-profile matters
Exceptional writing, interviewing, and analytical skills
Experience advising public entities, educational institutions, municipalities, or private employers preferred
Interest in strategic lateral growth, practice expansion, or succession planning within a collaborative firm platform Responsibilities
Leading and conducting workplace, Title IX, public agency, executive misconduct, and independent investigations
Managing all phases of investigations including scoping, witness interviews, document review, analysis, and written findings
Advising clients on compliance, governance, ethics, and cultural assessment issues arising from investigations
Maintaining and growing an existing portable investigations practice
Developing and strengthening long-term client relationships across public and private sectors
Collaborating with firm leadership on practice growth, succession, or integration strategies
Upholding the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and client service - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
