Key Responsibilities:
\n
• Lead end-to-end automation projects involving mechanical systems, assembly equipment, special purpose machines (SPMs), robotics integration, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing automation solutions.
\n
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
\n
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Supply Chain, Installation, and Commissioning teams.
\n
• Serve as the primary customer interface for project planning, technical reviews, progress updates, issue resolution, and change management.
\n
• Develop project execution plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), resource plans, and milestone tracking mechanisms.
\n
• Oversee mechanical design reviews and ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
\n
• Manage procurement and supplier activities for fabricated parts, machined components, bought-out items, tooling, and automation equipment.
\n
• Monitor project KPIs related to cost, schedule, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
\n
• Drive project risk management activities and implement mitigation plans for technical and commercial risks.
\n
• Coordinate manufacturing, assembly, installation, commissioning, and production ramp-up activities.
\n
• Support machine buyoff activities including Design Reviews, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and customer handover.
\n
• Ensure adherence to machine safety requirements, ergonomics, manufacturing standards, and applicable regulations.
\n
• Lead engineering change management and maintain project documentation, BOMs, drawings, and technical records.
\n
• Support proposal development, project estimation, technical feasibility reviews, and customer discussions.
\n
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence principles.
\n
• Mentor engineering teams and foster a collaborative project environment.
\n
\n
Required Qualifications:
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
\n
• 5-7 years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing automation, machine building, special purpose machines (SPMs), tooling, fixtures, or capital equipment projects.
\n
• Proven experience managing complex mechanical automation projects from concept to commissioning.
\n
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, machine design, mechanisms, pneumatics, hydraulics, material handling systems, and industrial equipment.
\n
• Experience managing fabrication, machining, assembly, installation, and commissioning activities.
\n
• Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project.
\n
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tolerancing, GD&T, DFM/DFA principles, and engineering documentation.
\n
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
\n
• Experience managing multiple projects and suppliers in a fast-paced environment.
\n
\n
Preferred Qualifications:
\n
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
\n
• Experience managing robotics integration and automated assembly systems.
\n
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0, Smart Factory, and Digital Manufacturing initiatives.
\n
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APQP, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
\n
• Experience managing global suppliers, fabrication vendors, and contract manufacturers.
\n
• Knowledge of conveyor systems, material handling equipment, lifting systems, tooling, fixtures, and production automation solutions.
