Physical Therapist — Post Joint Replacement Discharge Evaluations
Campbell, CA
Outpatient Surgery Center in Campbell, CA is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to perform post operative evaluations for total joint replacement patients prior to discharge. This is a per diem role in an outpatient surgery center with a growing total joint program.
Responsibilities
- Conduct post op PT evaluations on same day total knee and total hip patients to confirm discharge readiness
- Assess gait, transfers, stair negotiation, and assistive device use
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise, precautions, weight bearing status, and DME use
- Document evaluations in the chart and communicate clearance or concerns directly to the surgeon and clinical team
- Coordinate with case management on home health or outpatient PT follow up
Requirements
- Current California PT license in good standing
- BLS certification
- Experience in physical therapy for total joint replacement, knee and hip
- Comfort working with post-surgical orthopedic patients in an ASC or short stay setting
- Ability to work independently and make discharge recommendations with confidence
- Reliable availability on scheduled surgery days

- Schedule: per diem, surgery days only, typically mid-mornings into early evenings.
- Compensation: highly competitive hourly or per case rate based on experience
