The primary role of Think Together Arts Instructors is to provide students with an unparalleled nurturing, fun, and dynamic arts educational experience in the disciplines of Dance, Media Arts, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts. Think Together Arts Instructors in collaboration with Lead Arts Instructor and OCSA Director of Arts, help to develop innovative lesson plans featuring a universal design for learning lens (UDL) with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) touchpoints. Arts Instructors act as a positive adult role model, coach, and mentor. Arts Instructors must have a genuine interest in the growth, development, and provision of a safe and nurturing environment for the students they teach. Ensuring that Think Together students reach their potential takes a tremendous amount of hard work, flexibility, and commitment. Think Together Arts Instructors provide students with a nurturing, fun, and dynamic arts educational experience in the disciplines of Dance, Media Arts, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts. Other programs include Ballet Folklorico and Mariachi. Think Together Arts Instructors with support from Lead Arts Instructors, deliver safe, fun, and dynamic arts experiences for students (grades K-6) based on approved lesson plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Curriculum & Lesson Plan Development
• In collaboration with Lead Arts Instructor, develop lesson plans based on curriculum map.
• Identify natural areas for SEL incorporation.
• To the degree possible, allow lesson plans to adapt to maximize student development and engagement - working with support staff to identify any issues that may arise.Instructional Duties
• Develop a class lesson plan in alignment with designated curriculum map.
• Provide excellent arts instruction of assigned classes, teaching approved material, and using an approved course outline of daily activities that link to approved student outcomes.
• Differentiated instructional methods and approaches for classes that have varied age groups.
Administrative Role
• Complete daily protocols faithfully and fully - including but not limited to; attendance taking, supervision of students at all times, maintaining/securing any classroom supplies/equipment.
• Communicating and sharing with support staff any issues that may arise in the class that warrant interventions.
• Check email daily on weeks of instruction.
• Meetings (as needed) with support staff to discuss any issues or plans for the class. • Supervision and Safety of Students
• Vigilant supervision and observation of students at all times during class
• Acknowledgment and observance of instructor’s duty to report known or reasonably suspected child abuse.
• Adherence to school district’s safety protocols
• Making sure content of the class is “age appropriate” for ALL students and is curated to provide maximum accessibility for all students.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of training, that are currently pursuing a degree in one of the following 5 arts disciplines (Ballet Folklorico, Dance, Mariachi, Music, Theatre, Media Arts, Visual Arts)
OR
• Candidates that have 2+ years of practical/professional experience in area of arts concentration
• 1+ years of facilitating arts educational experience in grades K-6 highly preferred.
