Job Title: Controller
Status/Pay: Exempt | ITAR Qualified | Onsite
We are seeking a detail-oriented, driven Controller to lead our financial operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the VP of Operations & Sales, this role partners closely with leadership to ensure financial integrity, operational efficiency, and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting functions: financial reporting, internal controls, payroll, tax, and compliance
- Manage month/quarter/year-end close, including inventory valuation, COGS, and variance analysis
- Lead cost accounting (labor, materials, overhead), standard costing, BOMs, and efficiency metrics
- Prepare financial statements, KPIs, and management reports
- Analyze variances and collaborate with operations to drive cost savings and improvements
- Oversee inventory controls, cycle counts, and reserves
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Ensure GAAP and regulatory compliance
- Lead and develop the finance team
- Support audits, banking relationships, and lender reporting
- Improve ERP systems and financial processes
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Proven experience in a financial leadership role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
- Experience managing accounting functions (GL, AR, AP, tax)
- Ability to analyze financial performance and communicate insights to leadership
Preferred:
- Manufacturing experience (contract, electronics, machining, or medical devices)
- Familiarity with ITAR, ISO, AS9100, or government contracting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High integrity with the ability to drive strategic recommendations
